Following are the few remnants of my days at SNA.

The first picture was taken during the Fall Season of the first year of SNA (1963). My picture was used for the very first SNA ad which appeared in Boys Life and other publications. I was in the 6th grade at the time and the school only went to 9th grade the first year.

This next picture was taken at the first dance that SNA put on (1964). The first midshipmen is Ralph White. His brother is in the middle and I am to the far right. There were 3 ribbons that you could earn at that time. One for the Best Company (Decatur); one for physical fitness; and one for academics. You can see all 3 pinned on my jacket in the photo (not bragging just trivia).

This picture was taken at my house before going to the SNA Dance. The other midshipman, who was escorting my sister to the SNA Dance, last name was Anderson.

This Certificate was given to the original Plank Owners (students) of SNA during its first year. I believe that there were only 39 of us on the first day of school. There used to be a plague on display in the Quarterdeck at the first school building, which I believe later, became the Junior School.

This ad appeared in Sanford Herald, the Orlando Sentinel, and other newspapers & magazines.

This was the very first group of midshipmen to receive the Academic Award at SNA (1964).

This is a partial newspaper article showing some of the students on the Headmaster’s List (1965)
